A Conversation about Democracy and the Holocaust

Dina Butcher’s parents fled Nazi Germany in 1939 after her father was released from the notorious Sachsenhausen Concentration Camp in Germany. Many in her family were murdered in the gas chambers at Auschwitz. In recent years, Dina has been telling her family’s tragic story and warning about the fragility of our democracy as heated rhetoric and political division similar to that which led to Hitler’s “final solution” have been stirring up hatred in this country.
