February 1st Service

Snow Country Prison

The Internment Memorial Project, “Snow Country Prison,” honors the more than 1,800 Japanese and Japanese Americans unjustly confined at Ft. Lincoln in Bismarck during WW II. Ft. Lincoln held Issei community leaders and Nisei resisters under harsh conditions, a little-known chapter of history marked by government repression and forced renunciations of citizenship.
Join us as Dennis Neumann tells us about how United Tribes Technical College, located on the former camp site, has partnered with Japanese American descendants to create a memorial that acknowledges this painful past and fosters healing and remembrance.
