The word “justice” is ambiguous and has meant many things throughout history. What did it once mean and what does it mean now? This talk with Dr. Jack Russell Weinstein will connect its long history with today’s political debates.

Dr. Jack Russell Weinstein is a Chester Fritz Distinguished Professor of Philosophy and the Director of the Institute for Philosophy in Public Life, at the University of North Dakota. He is the host of the public radio show and podcast Why? Philosophical discussions about everyday life (WHY? Radio for short), currently in its twelfth season. He is the author of three books and dozens of articles and has edited six collections.

There are two threads to Weinstein’s career. The first is his specialized work, which focuses on the intersection of the history of philosophy and contemporary political theory. The other thread in Weinstein’s career emphasizes creating and cultivating a large-scale philosophical discussion with non-academic audiences.
